Enrollment and Tuition

Enrollment Policy

GGA will only admit new students between the ages of 4 and 11. Exceptions to this policy may be made if students are transferring from another school with similar values and curriculum, and/or who demonstrate outstanding character and mastery of English. At least one parent must be a permanent resident in Guangzhou.

Age and Grade Policy

Pre Kindergarten (K4) — 4 years old by September 1.
Kindergarten (K5) — 5 years old by September 1.
ABCs/First Grade — 6 years old by September 1. Children MUST also pass the Reading Readiness Test.
Grade 2–12 — Children who are 7 years old and above are diagnosed individually and prescribed course work according to their true performance level rather than age/grade level.

ESL Enrollment Policy

Children whose first language is not English must take an English proficiency test. If they diagnose more than 2 years behind their chronological grade level they will not be admitted, unless a special non-graduation (ESL) program is desired. Parents will be required to sign an enrollment acceptance letter in this case. The ESL fee is charged to these and any other students receiving special help in the English as a Second Language program.

Tuition fee is paid 2 installments. The tuition fee covers everything except food, the school uniform, and transportation.

If a student leaves before the end of a quarter, tuition payment will only be refunded for any complete semester of non-attendance. The fees paid for a semester in which the student attended school for any period of time are not refundable. Tuition payments may be made yearly or by semester. Payments are due by the first day of the payment period. Late payment fee: 2% per month.
